Selective Evolution Project - Dog Breeds
This is a project I have had my Environmental Science (remedial) students in high school do for several years. They research a dog breed and then compare its features to that of another member in the order Carnivora. It takes two 50-minute class periods to research, complete, and present.
This would also be good for middle school or upper elementary when studying evolution. It may take longer for younger students.

Work Habits Checklist for Robotics/STEM

This virtual field trip allows students visit interactive websites geared to exploring the 4 types of fossils & what the ideal conditions are to create each type, view some prehistoric life forms specific to students' local geography, learn more about students' local paleo-environment and explore various time periods. Mass Lab - using a balance

I use this in my classroom to get the students familiar with the use of the balance and the metric (grams) measurements. We spend time talking about how to properly calibrate the balance so that both sides are equal.
