Very simple activity I complete with my 5th and 6th graders when we discuss "Absolute Music" (music for the sake of music) in music history lessons.
Students are asked to listen to a selection of music (I choose a piece from the Classical Period to align with the larger content we are learning) and draw what they hear. It can be a single image to an entire story. It is meant to be and abstract right brain activity, but some students will literally draw the instruments that they hear.
