Concert Makeup Assignment
When a concert is required, but students do not attend, there must be an assignment to makeup those missing grades. This particular assigment gives students two choices, one of which involves attending a separate concert, and another research project. Both require 500 word essays. Choral Rehearsal and Performance Self Evaluation
It is important that students self assess their progress both in rehearsal and after performances. This rubric allows them to do both. I usually have them complete it (in pencil) after watching a video of a rehearsal a week or two before the concert date. Then we discuss it to prepare for the performance. After the concert, we watch that video and reassess (with highlighter). I then use it as a guide when I am assigning grades for the concert.
