This is a 2 page description/procedure/rubric for a Rube Goldberg project. I gave my class 2 full weeks to work on this. They are provided with minimal materials, the rest is gathered from home (recyclable materials, toys, etc..). A PowerPoint presenation accompanies the Rube Goldberg machine. Scale model of the Solar System
During this activity students will calculate the scale distances for each of the planets makes 93,000,000 miles=1 cm. Then students will use their rounded results to create a poster that represents the scale distances of the planets. Once my students were done I let them decorate with beads, string, and glitter!
