Test Taking Strategies / Follow Directions Prank/Fake Quiz

This quiz is a fun and funny way to get students to realize they need to pay attention to directions. There is a list of numerous steps to complete, which can actually be fun for students. HOWEVER, the first step says to "read all directions before continuing" and the last step says "only do..." so most students mess this up and do all the steps as they go along. Then you can give them the lesson at the end :) *Please rate 4 stars if this is useful! Thanks*

IEP Progress Monitoring Editable Data Sheet

It is imperative that special educators have a system for collecting data to show a student's progress towards their IEP goals. If your district is like mine, you have been given free rein to collect data however you choose. I have changed my progress monitoring data collection sheet several times over the past 4 years. I have finally developed one that helps me monitor progress in a more effective and organized manner. I have included a sample goal with benchmarks in this editable document.

The Following Directions Activity is designed to remind your students that it is important to read all directions and follow them before beginning an assignment. 5-Day Lesson Plan Template for Binders

I've created a new lesson plan template, suitable for your binders! It's similar to my previous lesson plan template for binders, but is intended more for "class specific" content. For example, I teach on a 4x4 block, 3 preps, so this format works for ONE of my classes per week. It's colorful, customizable, with all the essential components AND extra "write-in" areas for birthdays or reminders/notes. And it even has a cute little Owl to dress things up! I use this template for planning each of my guided reading groups. I designed it so that plans could be written quickly, and then anecdotal notes could be taken directly on the plan. Even though I use this primarily for guided reading, it would work well for any small group lesson. This lesson plan template will help you differentiate instruction by quickly filling in lessons for each group, rather than starting from scratch every time! Enjoy!

As an evaluator, I am often asked, what do you look for in a lesson plan, in a classroom. I created this template as an example of what I want to see in a perfect lesson. For teachers, this template can be used to create lessons for evaluations as it details each Domain, component, and element of the expectations of the model. F

I have used this activity with 6th, 7th, 8th grade level students, as well as reading intervention (remediation) students. Not only does this activity lower the affective filter, it really breaks down the walls of defensive or unmotivated students. I've also played a variation of this game at the end of the year. The snowball prompts were different (e.g. what was your favorite part of the school year, what was your favorite unit, advice for next year's students, etc). Kids enjoyed seeing how t
