This is a Great Gatsby word search. Basic word terms about the book include "West Egg" and "circus wagon" and "mansions" as well as many of the major characters. This can be used as a review, for extra credit, as part of a test when students finish early, etc. I often like to use it with a corresponding activity, such as "Choose 10 of the terms and write a paragraph each." This quiz consists of 29 poetry literary terms which a student must match to an example of the term (stanza, auditory imagery, simile, metaphor, paradox, etc.). For instance, a simile would not be matched to its definition, but instead, it would have to be matched to an actual simile. Also, the student has to list and define the three types of poetry (dramatic, lyric, and narrative). I use this quiz in my ninth grade honors class, and it is quite challenging.
