One is designed just for an adult to sing to an individual student. This was helpful as school counselor because students often stopped me in the hall to announce a birthday. They like the silly song, which is certainly sung in a lighthearted manner, since I don't sing very well.
One song uses the tune of "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and has actions to go with it.

This is a great song to teach at the beginning of the year. Segmentation of phonemes is a hard thing to teach children. Tapping out the sounds of a word to decode it is a strategy I use frequently. I like to pair this song with fun wands or pencils with toppers so they can tap on the table the way they would if they tap the sounds out. Sing the song to help your students remember a great decoding strategy and include movement with the wand for a sure memory

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FEARS? This chant is a good "ice breaker" to get to know your students. It also helps lower the affective filter in the classroom for kids. Kids can chant their way to meeting new friends. It's fun and easy to learn!
