Canción de redondear

As a Dual Language teacher, I often find that resources in Spanish are limited. I went to a presentation where the speakers had written a song that accompanies a rounding game. This was a great song, however, it was written in English. I asked for permission to translate this song, so here it is! The students learn the process of rounding while having fun!

Doubles Song / Doubling Rhyme / Multiplication / Two Times Table

I wrote this rhyme to help second and third-graders memorize their doubles facts. While they often could double 1-5 with ease, they tended to get mixed up with the products of 6, 7, 8 and 9 when multiplied by two. After "singing" this enough times, I could hear my students whispering the lines to themselves when doing computations! Eventually, as with anything that we memorize, they needed to refer to the rhyme less and less, and eventually it was committed to memory. I recommend writing it out

This worksheet is designed to be used with my music video "Without You (My Calculator)" on my YouTube channel "mrsteffessongs". First, students fill in the blanks with lyrics from the video to see what they can do without a calculator. Then there are four sections of exercises or examples with three problems in each section. These include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with decimals. An answer key is given but no detailed examples so my suggestion is to use this as an intro

These lyrics are to the tune of Cher Lloyd's "Want You Back". The lyrics explore vocabulary such as commission, tax, discounts, and tips. It tells of 3 different ways to solve percents- proportions, finding 10% first, and multiplying by the decimal. The kids love this song and it is an awesome way to teach percents. http://www.youtube.com/user/mathandIKnowIT Copy and paste the above link and see this song and others in action in the classroom.

These lyrics are designed to accompany my song, "Farmer's Market," which was created to help elementary school students with memorizing multiplication facts (namely, skip counting). The graphics can be printed on cardstock and made into a cute little book to use with the song. Montessori teachers will notice that the graphics are based on the colored bead bars that we use in our math curriculum, but the visuals will nicely supplement any elementary math curriculum. An MP3 recording of the song

I created this while teaching fourth grade in response to my students slow computational skills. It all goes back to the students' ability to group numbers into tens. By using this song, I was able to help my students memorize their "tens buddies" and saw improvement in their addition and subtraction! I projected it onto my Smartboard and the kids had a blast with it. It is to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" so most students are familiar with the tune. This can be used for younge

Skip Counting Song Scripts

This is a list of songs from You Tube that I typed up to have as a student script when learning to skip count. This is really useful for teaching multiplication, too! You can download these and use as a center, whole class practice, handout to send home, or sing and dance as a brain break. These could also be laminated and made into a reusable book. *These songs are not my original work. All of the songs I found on You Tube. I only typed the scripts to help my students learn the songs.
