This is a rap that outlines the steps in solving a 2 digit X 2 digit multiplication problem. My students love rapping it with an instrumental rap track off of YouTube. They remember the process much more effectively when they are able to set the learning to music.

The Long Division Song
This song was written to help fourth and fifth graders remember the steps to long division. It is meant to be used for whole numbers. My students always had a hard time remembering the difference between Divisor, Dividend, and Quotient so I came up with this chant they love to do. When I draw the long division symbol we call it the house. We talk about who is the visitor (divisor), who is in the house (dividend), and who is on the roof (quotient). After the first line they should knock on their desk three times to make the chant sound real.
