Get your students up and moving as you introduce turn around facts. Students could turn around as they sing the words turn around. Another idea would be to have students "be the turn around facts". Give students plus, equal signs and numeral cards to represent the turn around facts. The addends would switch places when appropriate in the sing. Then send sudents to their seats to record the turn around facts.

As a multi-age classroom teacher for many years I was always overjoyed to be able to use my love of song writing to bring the curriculum to life. Kids love and benefit from music in their learningthats NO secret but when the curriculum can be wrapped in a veil of song, all the better. This is a song about counting. It teaches young NUMEROLOGISTS that after you have counted from zero to 9, you simply put a one, then a two, then a three in front of these in progression to bring you

Division Chant

My students always had a hard time remembering the difference between Divisor, Dividend, and Quotient so I came up with this chant they love to do. When I draw the long division symbol we call it the house. We talk about who is the visitor (divisor), who is in the house (dividend), and who is on the roof (quotient). After the first line they should knock on their desk three times to make the chant sound real.
