Coordinate Plane Battleship
Fun way to have your students practice reading and identifying points on a coordinate plane. Uses 1st quadrant only.
Print and laminate for repeated use! Have students place their ships on the left. Using 2 colors of dry erase markers, they make guesses on the right side, marking a miss with one color and a hit with another. On the left side, they mark the misses and hits from their opponents guesses.

Financial Literacy Game of Life
Students put their financial literacy skills to use in this game of life. Each group is assigned a job with a salary, fixed and variable expenses, opportunities for investment, gains, and losses. Students track their bank balance throughout and on a daily log. It gives students a realistic insight into managing family resources and they enjoy the game and competition aspect of the activity.
(Note: I suggest you start them with a Day One starting balance of $200).

2-Variable Linear Inequalities BINGO game
This is a great way to review student understanding of the graphs of linear inequalities. There are 7 different BINGO cards with 24 pictures of graphs of 2-variable inequalities. The teacher reads the equation of a linear inequality and the stduents have to find the matching graph on their BINGO card. Students go for 5 in a row in any direction and I usually let them go for 5 in a row more than one time to keep the play going. The students absolutely LOVE this!

Reflecting Snowflakes
Students are given a list of ordered pairs to plot, and then reflect three times. Through this process, they create a snowflake!
This activity is great at reinforcing how to reflect without using a graph ( to reflect across the x axis, the x coordinate stays the same and the y becomes the opposite. To reflect across the y axis, the y coordinate stays the same and the x becomes the opposite). The students first reflect the points, and then plot them on the coordinate plane.

Scoot Common Core Ratio Tables and Graphs
Scoot is a popular activity used to review, assess, and keep kids moving! This activity bundle includes 16 scoot task cards, directions for the game, an answer document for students to fill in the answers and graph, and it also includes an answer key. Coordinate Graphing Battle Ship
The game was created to review coordinate graphing in the first quadrant. I can recreate to incorporate other quadrants if you need those. The game is play just like the board game Battleship. Students call out coordinates and map them on the record sheet to try to be the first player to "sink" a ship.

Polar Coordinates Connect Four Game
Learning polar coordinates is sometimes a challenge. Let students practice writing these ordered pairs and plotting them on polar graph paper with a fun game, Connect Four! This include the game board and teacher directions complete with images of winning connect fours.
This is a short activity but you could use it for longer time periods, even with a substitute.

Linear, Quadratic, Exponential Multiple Representations Matching Activity
Students match an equation to the graph and the table. This activity consists of 4 games with 5 functions each. The first game is linear. The second games is linear and quadratic. The third game is linear, quadratic and absolute value functions (I like giving this one even if they haven't seen absolute value graphs. The students are great at using process of elimination then using the y-intercept to help match unfamiliar graphs.) The fourth game is exponential.

Graphing Polynomials- Matching Cards
18 polynomials (most in factored form, only 3 in standard form) are given as well as the corresponding 18 graphs. I print these on card stock and make enough copies for each table of four to match them. Or you could pass the 36 cards out and have students find their match in the class.
These allow students to practice end behavior rules and identifying the solutions.

Skittles Bar Graph
This product can be used to help students understand tally charts and bar graphing. I purchased a bag of skittles (you could also get the fun size bags and let each student have a little bag of their own) and gave each student the same amount of skittles and let them tally their colors and then they placed the skittles on the bar graph.
