This will be my 18th year as a teacher. I have taught grades 4-6 primarily. My focus has been on fifth and sixth grade math and reading. I am a gifted intervention specialist and regular gen ed classroom teacher.
I have very high expectations for my students and implement those through challenging and rigorous tasks that align with the common core. I am very hands on and focus on interactive ideas in my classroom. I integrate 21st century skills as much as possible in order to help my students learn!
I have been nominated 3 years for Barnes and Noble Teacher of the Year award by past students, which has been a great honor!
I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Math, Reading and Language Arts. I then obtained my Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University in Gifted Education. I also have my endorsement in Social Studies and Science and just finished my Doctorate in k-12 leadership.
I have been in the same school district for 18 years now and love my job! I have 2 wonderful children and a great husband that support my career!
