V.I.P of the Week paper for parents to send home
This detailed VIP document was used when I worked as a Kindergarten teacher. This document is sent home on Friday with the child that is the VIP for that following week. It explains to the family what that means for them and what they need to bring into the classroom on Monday. Back to school classroom bingo! Great as a get to know you/ community building activity where kids can move around the room, talk to each other, and share out what they learned about their classmates! You can have them try to fill out as many as they can, the whole board, or a row/column. I usually have them write their classmate's name in the box.

Fun activity to build teamwork and get students moving! I hid the clues around the school and sent out teams to fill in their answer sheets. It's all about working togther to accomplish a goal. Human Machines team building activity
This is my (and my students') favorite team building activity for the beginning of the year! It gets my students to open up to each other and work together for a common goal. My kids still ask to do the activity the last week of school! Divide your class into teams (of 3-5 students per group) and let them pull one slip of paper of a machine to act out (like charades) in front of the class. Groups cannot talk or say words when they present their machines, but I do let them make noises or sounds
