Brain and Behavior Theme Park & Rubric
When my students first get this project, they think it is going to be easy--but then they realize that demonstrating the functions of the brain is harder than it seems.

Is a DNR tatoo a legal document?
In December a man was brought unconsious into an ER. Doctors found a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate tatoo on his chest. What should the doctors do? This is an interesting article which asks kids to choose a side (perfect for philosophical chairs!) As an extension I have also provided a rubric for students to "fix" the flaw in our medical system. Students will research and propose a solution to this problem.

Group Project- Body Systems
Student groups perform their own research and collaborate to create a presentation to their peers after becoming "Experts" on their own system. Stipulations are set for the delivery of the information. Often students choose to create a slide presentation, foldable, informational pamphlet, poster, or handout for their peers when they present the information to each other.
