PBL: Scientific Method
Students can learn on their own through this PBL. Included is a 2 week project calendar and a experimental design chart to follow. Also included is the grading rubric. As the students go through the PBL make sure that you are constantly checking for their understanding. This goes with a FLIPPED Classroom Design as well. They are responsible for watching selected videos that you will select for their homework and you will hold "workshops" when help is needed.

In this lab students devise their own unique strategies to separate a mixture of water, methanol, sand, salt, iron and copper. Each component of the mixture should be analyzed quantitatively for its mass, percent composition as well as percent error as compared to the actual value.
