TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over twenty years experience teaching Science and History at the secondary level. I have taught everything from Advanced Placement, Honors, College Prep, and High Needs Inclusion courses. I have also provided professional development to other educators in the areas of student engagement, rigor, co-teaching, classroom management, reflective practice, backward design, and teaching all students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is student centered. I structure my classroom into learning teams which allow students to work collaboratively as often as possible. These learning teams are designed to foster a students sense of ownership in their own learning. Students are encouraged to take risks and discover there may be more than one solution to a problem.
