Merrie Monarch Hula Competition
Use as a worksheet or an activity for students. Get students to examine the hula numbers, dancers, and mele (song), as well as the many aspects that go into these performances. Students will research a dance career and present their findings to the class. This can also be completed with a partner or small groups. Instructions, rubric, and Google Slides template provided. PURPOSE: Help gain a deeper understanding of different career options within the dance world besides being a professional dancer or choreographer. This assignment should encourage you to reflect on your own career aspirations and how you can contribute to the dance world.

Warm Up Project Rubric
Students in our Flexibility and Strength Elective sign up and are responsible for a warm up project of their choice and are assessed in the following areas. See project ideas to follow. These projects are kept up, and rather than jump roping and using various cardiovascular machines, students choose the "warm up" of their choose for that class period. Students are encouraged to explore various warm ups and or, are given the opportunity to recreate them.
