Film Studies - Camera Angles (Middle School Edition)

This Reader's Theatre covers the history of the famous battle at the Alamo in Texas. There are 14 characters including five Narrators, Santa Anna,Davie Crockett, Sam Houston, and Stephen Austin. This fits perfectly with a study of the Southwest Region of the United States and works with 4th-6th grade students. With smaller classrooms, parts can be combined to fit your needs. It is a total of eight pages long, and takes approximately 10 minutes to peform.

Step by step tutorial on making beautiful paper water lilies. Enhance your bulletin boards or displays with this easy, inexpensive project. Appropriate for children in grades 3 and up. Old West - Chuck Wagon Bellringer
Now updated with eight questions! A fun bellringer testing student's abilities as a cook on an Old West cattle drive. Students are asked multiple choice questions about jobs, nicknames, chuck wagon recipes, equipment, etc. to see if they can guess the right answers.

Super Hero Challenge
This is an interactive Microsoft Power Point Slide Show with a Super Hero Theme. I have used it for Super Hero Field Days in PE. You can display the slide show on a large wall and students stand in front of the screen so that their shadow is put on to the screen. They then dodge, duck, and jump away from objects flying into the screen. My students have loved using this and always ask for a new one. Phone Sanitation Experiment
Are you teaching culinary classes and want to show how dirty phones are? I did so I created this activity! Using fresh bread, a phone, and a ziplock bag, and in a week you can create a nice visual of how truly unsanitary it is to have or use your phones in the kitchens. I have pictures of students' bread slices from this year to show what you could end up with.

Planning a Healthy Meal and Shopping Template (Special Education)
This is a meal planning guide that incorporates the 5 basic food groups. Students will use a cookbook to decide on the main course of the meal, and from there will add on side dishes to help balance the food groups presented in the meal. Students will then make a shopping list of the needed materials. If applicable, they can shop for the food items at the store, working to find the total cost of purchase, use the "dollar up" method to pay, and calculate the amount of change they should get back.
