Test Taking Strategies / Follow Directions Prank/Fake Quiz

Created by
jts23
This quiz is a fun and funny way to get students to realize they need to pay attention to directions. There is a list of numerous steps to complete, which can actually be fun for students. HOWEVER, the first step says to "read all directions before continuing" and the last step says "only do..." so most students mess this up and do all the steps as they go along. Then you can give them the lesson at the end :) *Please rate 4 stars if this is useful! Thanks*

This is an activity designed for any age group. It is a timed worksheet with 21 questions, all of which are random. The first question instructs the students to "read all before beginning" and the last says, "do only number 1." Therefore the students should end with a blank page. Most students dive right in and realize their error on the last question by which time it is far too late to erase and correct. It is a fun, quick warm up activity designed to place importance on reading instructions

This chart can be modified for any behavior- attention, outburts, blurting out, etc... The goal is for students to become aware of their behavior and try to beat their number each day. The first sheet is intended for students to tally their frequency. It could be at first that the teacher has to point out each behavior verbally or visually and then the student writes down the tally. Eventually, it should be the student realizing the behavior and tallying themselves. The second sheet for the

I am not an English Teacher! My grandsons is dyslexic and while extremely intelligent, struggles with reading and comprehending what is read. Audio books work great but do not encourage him to practice much needed reading skills. I researched and found several books that qualified for required book reports. I purchased and read them highlighting the important information. My grandson found the highlighting more distracting than helpful, so I typed up the materials in a dyslexic font. This
