This spoof on the Myers-Briggs Assessment is a great beginning of the year activity. Use as an ice-breaker with your classes or for a faculty meeting.
Presented as a PDF SlideShow, participants will use only pencil and paper to complete the assessment. The pig they draw serves as a “test” of the personality traits of the drawer. Developmental Psych Student Activity "You Are the Parent"
To "wrap up" a Developmental Psychology unit, have your students respond to 22 behaviors from their imaginary child. The imaginary child exhibits a variety of behaviors at different ages (from 6-months old to adulthood). Remind students that they may not be abusive or neglectful. Their responses should be aligned with accepted cultural practices, laws, and the research of neuroscientists, psychologists, and educators (e.g., Piaget, Erikson, Kohlberg, Harlow, Baumrind, Sacks, Montessori, etc.).
