Cultures of Africa Project
This Cultures of Africa Choice Menu is a great way for students to dive into and research cultures within a country. It involves student choice and creativity. This project self-differentiates as students choose projects of varying difficulty and complexity, with good rigor. It is a 3-4 day lesson to give students adequate time to research and create each project. It is a great start of unit project to introduction to African cultures, or an end of unit research project assessment.

As a nice way to close up the early reformers unit, students choose to make trading cards for either abolitionists or suffragettes based upon their interests. The people, events, and locations that have been selected for this small project are in alignment with NYS CC standards 7.7b and 7.7c.
