Grade 5 Government Test!
As part of our aspects of citizenship unit, my grade 5s had to take this "citizenship test" to participate in our Citizenship ceremony. It is 5 pages and can be modified to your specific needs and is based on the Ontario Curriculum. It discussed rights and responsibilities, the electoral process, and had a variety of sections to aim to hit as many different types of learners as possible. This is a great lesson to do now with the upcoming inauguration of President Elect Obama. This lesson helps students explore and discuss the characteristics of a good leader. By the end of the lesson the students will be able to explain in writing and a picture what qualities or characteristics a successful president should possess.
