Lab Report - Lab report rubric, lab conclusionThis lab report bundle has saved me hours of grading and preparation usually required when grading lab reports consistently and fairly. Instead of the teacher writing multiple notes to the student on their reports, you can merely circle the rubric category that your student falls into. Students immediately know where they went wrong, and how to fix it. Also, the lab format sheet is written for easy student understanding, and application. This bund

Chemical Reactions Stop Motion Project

Stop motion videos are a great way to allow students to be creative while showcasing their understanding of chemical reactions. For this project students will be given five skeleton equations which they must balance, classify, and accurately model using stop motion. Students can create stop motion videos with free apps or Google Slides. The directions include project checkpoints linked as Google Forms that can be used for all students or for modification purposes. Each Google form is set as

Writing formal lab reports can be laborious and tedious for students. Give students the opportunity to peer review their classmate's lab reports before submitting them for a final grade from you, their teacher!Formal lab reports can be daunting and reviewing lab reports is foreign to most high school students. This peer review worksheet and checklist helps students review each other's lab reports anonymously; giving students the opportunity to update their reports and earn a better grade. The PD

Chemistry: Marzano Learning Goals and Scales for Tracking Student Progress This is a great way to track student progress and have learning goals and scales implemented in the Chemistry classroom. There are 10 major chemistry goals that can go along with your units that students can assess themselves on the scale. Each student will draw an element from the periodic table out of a hat. For example, I pull Co out of the hat. That is my element. I write my name down on the back of the element, hand

Science 10 Semester Long Inquiry Project (PBL)

Semester long inquiry project designed around the Alberta Science 10 Curriculum. The design thinking process was used in the development of this project, with an emphasis on 21st century competencies were a core focus.Over the course of a semester, students complete projects related to each unit of study that they are able to put into a magazine. By the end of the semester, each student has a magazine that holds all of the key concepts and learning they accomplished. The essential question "How

This is the rubric I use to grade student generated CER responses. Students complete the CER using this graphic organizer. Every CER is graded using this rubric. I use CER to guide post-lab data analysis as well as a format for open-ended questions on tests. I adapted this rubric from several sources including Matthew d'Alessio's video on Youtube and the NSTA's CER Rubric. I prefer this format as it gives me a few key things to look for as I'm grading and makes the grading less subjective.
