This is a UbD (Understanding by Design) plan for Gordon Korman's Jake, Reinvented and Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. I have planned for DI (differentiated instruction) within this unit: simply I taught both in my junior English classes at the same time. 10 Essential Questions, 4 Understandings, 1 Performance Task, and several Learning Activities. This is a great start if you are teaching both The Great Gatsby and Jake, Reinvented.
