Mrs. Lamp has taught 11th-grade English and AP Literature and Composition in a small school from 2011 to 2024.
Mrs. Lamp values collaborative learning and helping students master the social, emotional, and academic habits, practices, and mindsets they need for success. She believes teachers should be highly organized, hold high expectations, and provide clear learning objectives. Fairness, personal responsibility, and consistency are important to her classroom culture. Her classroom style blends lecture, coach, activity-based, and group-learning modalities.
Mrs. Lamp loves her school and her students. Helping all students come to see themselves as deep, thoughtful, intelligent, and insightful learners is her favorite thing about teaching.
Mrs. Lamp earned a Bachelor of Arts in English & a Teaching Certification in 5-12 English Education from the University of Iowa in 2011.
Besides spending an inordinate amount of time planning fun and engaging lessons for my students and giving them feedback on all of their work, I enjoy getting outside with my border collie, Rita; working on home improvement projects with my husband; and reading great literature!
