Space Theme - Goals and Self Portrait
This is designed as a beginning of the year activity for a space themed classroom. Students draw a self portrait of themselves as an astronaut and complete a few reflection/goal questions about what they are looking forward to for the next school year. It can be used as an ice breaker on the first day. It is designed as a Back to School activity but can be modified for any time of the year.

Back to School Art Lesson: Journey of My Summer Art Project
Create an ARTASTIC Back to School Art Project with your students that shows both their identity and what they did over the summer. Unit Lesson Plan Template
I have found myself doing mostly two to three week unit lessons, which are rather difficult to write out on a normal weekly lesson plan template. I don't necessarily have direct instruction or closure every day because it is just a continuation of the the previous or later lesson. I finally created a lesson plan template that works well with a unit lesson plan. And on the days I do not have direct instruction I simply put an x.
