2023 March Madness Stations
These eight stations include percent and measures of central tendency. All questions use stats from the 2023 NCAA basketball tournament. I set a classroom timer and gave students 3 minutes per station. My Pre-Algebra class needed the 3 minutes, my honors class needed 2:30, so alter as needed. Statistics in Sports - Who is better statistically speaking?
Give students the unique opportunity to explore athletes from any sport, peak their interest, and engage with one variable statistics in a meaningful way. Just create a quick rubric based on your grading practices and let them SOAR!
Suggested to have students claim their athletes or sports events in advance to avoid too many duplicates, especially if students will be presenting their findings.

City Planner - A Math Simulation on Designing a City
This unit combines Common Core standards into a fun simulation. Students learn about the City Planner job while designing a city. The class can vote on the best design and build a model of the city.
