I have taught 3rd Grade at the same wonderful school for the past 23 years. Many of these years I have spent teaching gifted and high achievers.
I believe the classroom is a place to learn and grow together while recognizing the independent needs, accomplishments, and goals of each student. I strive to maintain a setting in which students feel free to express themselves creatively and intellectually without inhibition. I value honesty, respect, and hard work. Furthermore, I believe that to stop learning is to stop living. To that end, I continually strive to look for opportunities to grow personally & professionally. I love that teaching is a profession where collaboration and innovation is encouraged and even expected. Never a dull moment!

I received a Bachelors degree in Animal Science from The University of Florida in 1989 and a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1999. I later completed the coursework for a Gifted Endorsement in 2006, achieved National Board Certification in 2008, and completed coursework for a Reading Endorsement in 2013. I look forward to all the personal and academic learning endeavors that arise with each new school year for both my students and myself.
I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful daughter. In my spare time I read mystery novels, listen to all kinds of music, and spend time with friends and family.
