I have worked in two different districts while in Texas. One had a very late lunch and one had a very early lunch. Either scenario is difficult for our younger kiddos. In both districts I had a snack time. It not only energized the kids, created a natural break\stretch time, it also helped us talk about healthy foods in a relaxed setting. I know that the school has parents fill out emergency cards, but I like having an original in my room at all times. I print this form out on card stock and have the parents fill them out. I teach in the immersion program, so I have 2 sets of students every day. I copy them on different colored card stock to keep the classes organized.
