This is my tried and true rubric I've used in my art one classes for quite some time now. You can use this for ANY project. It is also student friendly, as I've had my students use it to grade themselves before turning work in also. I always have students complete written self-reflections as part of their final assessments, hence my note at the bottom of the rubric, which you can certainly change if it doesn't fit your students. I hope it is just as helpful for you!

SHREK THE MUSICAL - DRAMA RESPONSE

A responding assessment for Shrek the musical, on one of the only musicals you can get a recording that is 'movie style but also theatre style', it engages the modern teen and is great to use in class. I have used this as an assessment and I have also adapted it to use just as a learning activity and it has worked amazingly in both careers. Each question makes it clear which of the dramatic elements it is exploring and there is a fun extension activity (word search) for early finishers. A rubric

I love using this rubric to have students self-assess! We have moved to a standards based report card in my district and I use this to help teach students about the 1-4 grading system. For the final blank box I have my students decide as a class what they should be graded on, and depending on the class this can change. We fill this category out together but you could also have students decide on their own! I have my students glue this to the back of their projects and fill it out at the end. If
