What educators are saying
We're finishing up our unit on ecosystems and human impacts and this is a great project for the end-of-the-year to keep students engaged and a chance to show their creativity.
Description
This project would be a great addition to an environmental unit, habitat and biodiversity study or even an art project!
Students will be asked to think of an item that is often disposed of and "UPcycle it" a.k.a. make it into something new that is usable again. For example, hockey sticks into coat racks, pop bottles into roof shingles? Buttons into art! The beauty of this assignment is that it can be added to allowing it to be adapted to various age levels and needs!
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE:
- A teacher page of steps to use this project
- the student outline
- brainstorm of ideas handout
- materials and sketches handout
- a rubric for teacher grading
This project is great to get students thinking creatively about the environment! Check it out and see for yourself!
