The Giver Modified Reading Questions
Modified Reading questions for Lois Lowry's The Giver. These are very simple reading questions for the lower level kids; they serve as a reading guide as well as reading questions. There are visual aids throughout the packet. The questions range from multiple choice, fill in the blank, and short answer. These questions worked really well in our seventh grade classroom; special ed students were scoring as well on unmodified tests as the rest of the class.

As I watched him struggle I took note of what he was struggling with and made a checklist to help him remember the steps he needed to take to complete the work. A Christmas Carol Modified Reading Questions
Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" Modified Reading Questions. The packet includes many visuals, a character list that uses the Mickey Mouse version characters, and reading questions to fill in as the student reads. These questions are modified from the general curriculum questions for lower level special education students. Students were very successful with these questions and ended the unit with almost complete comprehension of the novel.
