Planning a Healthy Meal and Shopping Template (Special Education)
This is a meal planning guide that incorporates the 5 basic food groups. Students will use a cookbook to decide on the main course of the meal, and from there will add on side dishes to help balance the food groups presented in the meal. Students will then make a shopping list of the needed materials. If applicable, they can shop for the food items at the store, working to find the total cost of purchase, use the "dollar up" method to pay, and calculate the amount of change they should get back.

Tectonic Plate Puzzles
With this activity, students will use a simple paper plate and the attached world map to model and label the major tectonic plates on Earth. Students will cut their maps and make puzzles for their partners to put together. While they are assembling their puzzles, they can manipulate the pieces to simulate Pangaea and the concept of continental drift. Additionally, students can use the pieces to demonstrate the movements within the plates that cause earthquakes and volcanoes.

A great way to teach about the stock market! Assign each student a company to invest stock in. Each stock will be given a number. Take turns rolling the dice. When the number to your stock is rolled, your company gets a point and is making money! When your company makes money so you do you! At the end, you can decide to sell your stock and get the amount of money worth your points or keep it and hope it will make you more money.
