After several weeks of me choosing the song of the week, the students have a research project where they research song lists and choose their own artist. They study the life of this artist, write a biography, choose a song, and find a grammatical structure that they want us to focus on. Students loved this and I did too since it introduced me to songs that interested the students. It was definitely the project of the year for my 9th graders! I gave them a few days in class to work on this.

Cultural Project
Instructions for cultural projects in Spanish class. This project can be use in lower Spanish classes by having them do it in English, or in more advance Spanish classes by doing it in Spanish. The project includes instructions for the research. The project itself has three components, an essay, a poster and google presentation that the students then record in LOOM or can be presented in class. The instructions also include a list of 23 different topics for the research.
