This is my take on the paper plate assignment where students cut out magazine pictures of foods and place them on the make believe plate in the right proportions to match the MyPlate guidelines. I made the chart easy to follow so that students can easily decide what to eat to match the guidelines. Since the MyPlate mentions ounces and cups, I translated that into servings that are the size of a tennis ball, baseball, etc. My students will do this as an end-of-the-year project.
