This 5 page document allows students to write character descriptions as they watch the movie. It also provides questions which ask them to consider important themes and messages as they watch.
Easy to answer questions are provided for students to fill in while watching the movie to keep them attentive. Have your students ever asked "Where am I ever gonna use this in real life?". Well, they'll be able to answer that questions after doing this assignment. Rollercoaster Project
The Rollercoaster project is interactive and hands-on to assess the student's knowledge of polynomials and slopes. Students work in groups of 3-4 and will complete the assignment in roughly a week. Teachers can alter the amount of time needed for completion. Student's have their own roles and room for creativity. This would work as a great quarter project for a review of turning points, end behaviors, and writing polynomial functions.

Post AP Calculus AB or BC project options with scoring rubrics and samples

In this project, students work collaboratively to approach an engineering-type problem involving cans and their surface area. There are rubrics included for team evaluation, self evaluation, and teacher evaluation.
Determining the Area Between Two Curves - With a Bit of Art!
This activity is a fun activity that mixes Calculus with a bit of art. The activity comes complete with directions for the students, photos of previous work by students, and a fairly simple rubric for easy grading by the instructor. My students have loved this activity for years and I think yours will too. Appropriate for any level of calculus whether it is a college prep course or AP Calculus AB or BC.
AP Calculus Project #1 (English Teacher versus Machine)
This witty project has the students utilize a number of Calculus concepts such as: Riemann sums, over/under approximations, the FTC, accumulation, average value and average rate of change.

Designing a Roller Coaster

Students will use calculus, specifically differentiation, to design a roller coaster taking into consideration the height of their design, speed, and angles of ascent and descent. Zombies and Exponential Growth
This is a project relating exponential growth and decay to the zombie apocalypse. Students go through the infection and deprive their equation with the help of a table. Apply change of base formula and logs to find calculations, and get a short glimpse at exponential decay. The packet is about 6 pages in all. My students really enjoyed it!! AP Calculus Group Activities
This is a collection of five group activities with answer keys that can be used at the end of the school year or intermittently throughout the year. Groups can be selected randomly or created by you. I selected my groups, which I called Lab Groups, based on having one high performing student and one low performing student in each group. I used these lab activities as a grade. Implicit Differentiation Activity - Optical Illusions
Teacher notes are included.The 1-2 day activity is intended to apply implicit differentiation techniques to a set of graphs that create an optical illusion. There are 6 optical illusions for student to choose from. Students will prove that the illusion is false by showing that the derivative of a function at a point is described by a straight line, not one that bends or curves.
