Are you looking for a project that will assess your students' knowledge on the scientific method? This project can do just that. Students will create a comic strip that includes a frame for each of the steps of the scientific method. They will create an illustration and caption that helps to explain each step. I have also included the rubric that can be used for assessment. It can easily be adapted for any science class, and it is a great tool to differentiate instruction.

Let's Go Fly a Kite Engineering Project
Students design, build and test a kite over a 3 day period. This is followed by another 3 day period for redesign and additional testing. Project encourages students to share ideas and to use effective engineering skills in an effort to meet the minimum requirement; 30 seconds of flight time with no assistance from the student; i.e. pulling on the string.
