This resource is great to introduce this novel, or as an extension activity for after the novel has been read. My third graders loved to come up with the worst sounding recipes (they love to make their teacher gag! :) I gave each student a recipe page, and we made a classroom recipe book! The students love to open up this book and read about the different recipes that their peers came up with!
