I have used this WebQuest to introduce "Fahrenheit 451" and "The Catcher in the Rye," but it could be used with any novel/play/story from the era. The WebQuest asks students to investigate popular food, entertainment, and recreation of the time period, and then to analyze what all of those things mean together. It gives great cultural information, rather than just historical.
