This is a great way to review student understanding of the graphs of linear inequalities. There are 7 different BINGO cards with 24 pictures of graphs of 2-variable inequalities. The teacher reads the equation of a linear inequality and the stduents have to find the matching graph on their BINGO card. Students go for 5 in a row in any direction and I usually let them go for 5 in a row more than one time to keep the play going. The students absolutely LOVE this!

Chill Math
In this review activity, students will bounce all over your classroom to different posted problems reviewing various ways to factor polynomials, such as taking out the greatest common factor, grouping, difference of squares, and unFOIL (trinomial into two binomials). Working in groups, students solve a problem and then choose the correct answer, which send them to a new problem. If students complete the problems correctly, they will be taken on a unique pathway through each of the 16 problems.

Students work in groups and solve problems pertaining to basic matrix operations and creating matrices. When the group finishes a problem, a student brings you the answer to check. If it is incorrect, they continue working on it. If it is correct, they draw a part of their math monster. Detailed instructions are included and an answer key. If you'd like more information, please let me know. Please rate it.

Solving Systems of Equations Relays

There are a total 13 different relays, including solving by substitution, elimination, graphing, systems of inequalities, and linear programming. This is a great activity to use to practice how to do these problems that students find complicated. Students sit in rows or groups and 1 student does one step, then passes the paper to the next person. They may not talk or help each other until they show their answer to you. If their answer is incorrect, then they may work together to fix it. Als

This activity gets students to analyze and explain the pro's and con's of solving systems of linear equations by graphing, substitution, and elimination. They try to convince others to use their method while analyzing which method would be best in different situations. Lots of fun! Supports the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice. Includes the posters to pass between groups, directions, problems, and answer key.

Students in rows of 4 work on one problem then pass it to the person behind them to work on the second problem, etc. After the 4th person is finished, they bring you the paper to check it. If everything is correct, they get the next game. If something is incorrect, they work together to fix the mistake. Three games are included with answers.

This is a classroom tested activity in which students enjoy working the problems because they can check their work from the answers. This linear inequality activity is a great warm-up, review, partner work or competition. There are 5 linear inequalities to work with 5 answers. Students race to solve the problems. Answer key is provided.

Let's Debate: Solving Quadratic Equations by Multiple Methods

Created by

Quadratic equations can be solved by graphing, by factoring, by completing the square, and by the quadratic formula. Once your students have learned these skills separately, it is time for them to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each method and when it is best to use each. This game is great for review before a test or in preparation for an end of course assessment in Algebra 1. Meets Common Core expectations for Mathematical Practices.

• Create oceans on your whiteboard/chalkboard/desks with blue paper or blue markers and label. • Divide class into teams of 3-4 students. • Give each team a problem card “ship”. • Every member of the group works the problem and raises their hand when they are done. You go over and check their work and answers. If EVERYONE has done the problem correctly, they get a "baby ship" which they put their group number on and hang in any one of the oceans. • As they finish a "ship", they go get another on

Students receive a card with a either a coordinate point or linear equation on it. Then, music is played and students walk around the room as they would in musical chairs, but when the music stops, they have to pair up with another person (a coordinate point person pairs with a linear equation person and vice versa). Once paired, the teacher calls out "PARALLEL" or "PERPENDICULAR." The students then use the given point and line to write an equation that is either parallel or perpendicular to the

Once everyone receives a file folder of materials, have the students draw 7 X’s on their board. These are the “ships” that the other person is trying to sink. (We suggest having the boards laminated and allowing the students to use a dry erase marker to mark their X’s.) Once the X’s have been marked, have the students begin solving problems on the worksheet in their folder. After partner 1 solves a problem, he/she will check his/her answer with partner 2.
