I have typed up the lyrics to 3 of the history songs (No More Kings, Shot Heard Round the World and the Preamble) but have removed certain words. My students watch the video once and then fill in the lyrics as we listen a second (and sometimes third) time to the song. I wanted a way for them to interact with the video and get the songs stuck in their heads! It is great as the start to a unit and as a fun wrap up.If you would like all 11 America Rock songs including I'm Just a Bill and Sufferi

Show students two different types of love poems while also teaching them to identify poetic elements of imagery, rhyme, rhyme scheme, rhythm, and the form of the sonnet. This song is clean (no drug, alcohol, sex, nada) full of regular ar, er and ir verbs and a few boot verbs (empezar), ir+a+infinitive, a bit of weather vocab (lluvia) and easy to understand. There's a bit of "pa' qué" type slang to get your students into what real native speaker Spanish sounds like and a great positive theme. I use these songs during calendar time in my classroom. I allow the children to create the hand motions, clapping, snapping, etc. to help them make it fun! We sing these daily. I have ex-students that tell me they still sing some of the songs to help them remember how to spell the months. I also find that after a few days into each month, students no longer look around the room to spell the month when they need to write it.
