Journal Entry Rubric
This is a handy rubric to use for any journal-writing project. I used it after students had accumulated five journal entries. Each day a series of questions was projected on the screen and they had 10-15 minutes to complete an entry. Once five entries were completed, they would turn them in for a grade - each one is looked at in terms of content, organization, and length. The journal topics can be related to any text and/or subject being discussed in the classroom.
