What educators are saying

This was simple to use and easy to understand. I've used it in class for multiple years now. Great product. Thank you so much!

Description

Teaching students how to create suspense in writing is a fun, 2-day lesson that is perfect for a narrative unit (especially if it falls around Halloween!)

This document includes:
1. Notes on how to use 2 different writing that create suspense. Writing Tool #1 is based off of the EXCELLENT video by Aaron Sitze (and Ted ED) called "How to Slow Down Time". The video is available on YouTube. Students really enjoy the video and connect with it.

2. A worksheet for students to practice using these 2 writing tools. Students take an intriguing lead and create suspenseful paragraphs. These leads were taken from the Scholastic Teacher website.

ENJOY writing some suspenseful stories with your students!
