This is a complete animal diorama project, in which the students choose an animal and create an animal and habitat diorama in a shoebox along with a four paragraph report about the animal. The students will write about the animal's characteristics, habitat, diet, and what they learned. Introduction to Writing Hook Sentences
My third graders are learning how to make our writing more exciting this week, so I made this as an introduction. The first page is for them to do with me as a class and glue into their Writer's Notebooks. The next pages are for them to practice on their own. I wanted to focus on three types of hooks: asking a question, stating a fact, and painting a picture.
