How to Make Mexican Paper Marigolds (Day of the Dead, Halloween, Cinco de Mayo)
In Mexico the marigold or cempasúchil is also called the flor de muertos ("flower of the dead") because people use it to decorate during the Day of the Dead celebrations on November 1 and 2. This festive flower is also used as a decoration on Cinco de Mayo and in other traditional celebrations.

In Mexico, cut tissue paper or papel picado is a traditional decoration for Cinco de Mayo, the Day of the Dead, national holidays, weddings, funerals, and many other celebrations.
