The whole class can be involved, as there is no limit to the number of 'fish' characters. Children can make two-sided puppets on a stick to match their characters. Pecos Bill: A script for reader's theatre, play or puppet show

This is a script I wrote for a 4-5 class as a puppet show. This would work just fine as a play or as a reader's theatre script. It is for 7 characters, plus however many narrators you would like. The kids in the class had a lot of fun with this one. I hope yours do, too!

The Sequential Order of Fairy Tale Plays in a class period

This is one of eight 45 minute plays to produce in your K-8 program. Eight stories will take 8 classes to present. Another four to develop props, and yet another 4 for practice. This thematic unit encompasses the entire spring session, with additional materials required for the lower grades who after reading and organizing their thoughts are not presenting the plays. However, they are the fond recipients of the entertainment once a week. There is a gap of four weeks while props are being ma

The Ankle Grabber Reader's Theatre Script -Art

I am afraid to look. I may see the Ankle Grabber, watching me. Any second, its scaly hand could shoot out and grab me. Instead, when I look, I see something else’s eyes staring back at me. Suddenly, I stop. I feel the large hands, cold and rough, grabbing my ankles. They grip me hard and pull me with a sudden whoosh! I feel myself sliding along the bedroom floor. I start to scream.********************************************************************************************************************

This was a hit in my classroom. Students are given one improv scenario, a box of props, and a few minutes to perform. It got shy students out of their seats, too. My students did not want the class to end. You can modify by having them bring in their own props, adding any type of background music, or display a scene by using a projection unit.

Sandy's Christmas Concerts for classrooms are fun and include everyone! HATS

These Christmas Concerts were created because 38 years ago I couldn't find concerts that included all of my students. My concerts ensure that each child has a fun costume and a speaking line to highlight them as very important in the production. The concerts range from 25 minutes to 45 minutes depending on how many students you have and how many props you decide to use. All concerts have been performed and enjoyed by many audiences.
