A Novel with the Works: Book Report Meets Pizza!
Instead of having your students write a traditional book report, why not have them create a "novel with the works". Each part of the pizza box is used to describe the elements of their novel. Inside the box the students will make their own "pizza" with a character slice, setting slice, plot slice, theme slice, conflict slice and point of view slice. This activity is a great way to let your students have some fun and get creative!

This product is a great activity to go with any unit on Braille or disabilities. All you need is a copy of the Braille alphabet, some glue, and some little round gems from your local craft store. This product is a pattern to create a product that will help your students learn & remember the rule for the soft sounds of c and g. The soft sounds c and g sit n a SOFT cloud of cotton balls. I attached the letters I, e, and y with fishing string AFTER the c and g (hanging below). When c or g have an i, e or y after it, they will make their soft sound.

Make a World Map Game and Practice Your Spelling & Vocabulary Words
This project is a great way to produce student artifacts that show evidence they have basic knowledge of geography and world maps. It also is a very fun activity to help them practice their spelling and vocabulary words for the week for any subject.
My students have enjoyed this so much that they've gone home and played it over and over with their families. As a result, grades have gone up in social studies and language arts as well as any subject we used vocabulary words for.

After looking at the features of a dictionary, and then discussing what homophones are, this assignment will provide your students with a resource to their own writing. Many students use the wrong word in their writing because spellcheck doesn't catch homophones of the word that they meant to use. This lesson uses the vowel clusering method and emphasizes the short ă sound. The lesson includes direct instruction for the classroom and learning center activities. What's in my Egg is a great project for students at home. If you are using Google Classroom, you can upload the file into their classwork.
