A roll the dice game that gets students to use different persuasive writing strategies when sharing their arguments. In pairs, students select a topic from a pile to argue about. They select whether they are going to be agreeing or disagreeing. One student then rolls the dice. This is a notebook slide adapted from a simple 'argument' game. I used this in my fourth grade class as a fun game to practise persuasive language. Two students at a time (could be played in teams). Each student presses interactive dice which determines which topic will be argued. Students then need to give 2 arguments for their side. Class can vote on who had the better points. Winner can continue with new opponent.
