Complete or Incomplete Sentence Sort
This is a sort that would be great for a literacy center or as a review activity after a mini-lesson on what sentences need to be complete. The top of the sort says: Complete Sentence and the other side says Incomplete Sentence. Students have to cut out the boxes and decide if what is in the box is a complete thought or not and then glue it underneath the correct option. Two examples are: The orange cat. and He hit the ball.

An example of a script for creating & refining a news broadcast (Editable)
Desired outcomes: Students practice prepared scripts, film a broadcast, critique the clips, and create a criteria for improving broadcasts. Explain to students that they will practice scripts in small groups, then they will be filmed presenting their scripts. Next time we will critique them. Hand out scripts to groups, they practice, then film each group.

The Carrot Seed - Dirt Pudding Activity and "How To" Booklet
In this activity, students read "The Carrot Seed" by Ruth Krauss, or another related book, such as "The Tiny Seed", by Eric Carle. Following the read aloud, students sort the pictures provided (for each step) and glue them onto the appropriate page (step 1, step 2, etc) in their booklet. After students correctly sequence the steps for making dirt pudding, students use their "How To" booklets to make the pudding cups. Follow each step and enjoy!

Solving Riddles by Actively Listening

Sharing Topics
This is a compilation of topics that I use in my class for sharing for the whole year. One topic for a week, there are 40 topics. My students are too old for 'Show and Tell' yet they need opportunities to speak in front of the class.
