I love modifying books and rhymes just to add a little change - I have added band aids to this rhyme. When monkey bumps his head, he could say OUCH and need a band aid! They study the life of this artist, write a biography, choose a song, and find a grammatical structure that they want us to focus on. Students loved this and I did too since it introduced me to songs that interested the students. It was definitely the project of the year for my 9th graders! I gave them a few days in class to work on this.
